Pale field rats are up to 140mm long and their tails are about 2cm shorter than their body length. They have a brownish colour along their backs and are found in man-berrk dja kurralk 'open forests and grasslands'. Like most small mammals they are nocturnal and are also susceptible to predation by feral cats. Their population is possibly in decline as a result. Called dokkorn in all Bininj Kunwok dialects.
