Called barrak-barrak in some dialects of Bininj Kunwok. The name Dengebarrakbarrak is a nickname which means 'little pied cormorant foot' and refers to a person who has feet with toes turned outwards, so called because the footprints of such a person look like the tracks left by the little pied cormorant.
