Also known in English as Burton's legless lizard (Lialis burtonis), these lizards are also called pygopodid lizards which means that they lack forelegs and only have vestigial hind legs. It is called dird in all Bininj Kunwok dialects and is also known as 'the moon snake' because it's name dird also means 'moon'.
