Australian darter

Scientific Name
Anhinga melanogaster novaehollandiae
Category
Birds

Listen to the Kunwinjku audio to hear Timothy Nabegeyo saying the following:

Kardabaybay karri-nan kabirri-dayo, birri-komkuyeng nawu.

We see the Australian darter standing up drying itself. They have very long necks.

There is a Kunwinjku synonym, kunwardde karrulubun, which means the same as the Kune name, kunbad karrulubun 'it pierces the rock'.
